The farm circa 1930. We've updated the vehicles but the house is the same!

Located in the beautiful Mohawk River Valley of upstate New York, what we call home - Hawks Hunt Farm - has been in existence since the late 1800's. With a long history of productive farming, this lovely homestead had been gently neglected for nearly 15 years when we bought it in 1998.  We were delighted to find this farm of our dreams after a long search, and have settled into the hard work of bringing these 193 acres of pastures, fields, woods back into production.  Our goal is a multi-faceted farm, producing small quantities of top quality beef, chicken, turkey, eggs, pork and hay.

Committed to sustainable agriculture, we have chosen to farm naturally, and are developing a system of animal husbandry which takes a holistic approach to the care of our creatures - we call it the "Honored Life" approach.  Our "Honored Life" approach to animal raising is our attempt to honor the lives of all food animals by allowing them to act as naturally as possible - dozing in the sunshine, playing, socializing normally, with the freedom to move about safely, free from predators. In every possible way, we treat our animals with love, respect and honor, making sure that they experience no unnecessary stress in their lives.  The result is a happy animal, and delicious meat.

All of our animals are raised with natural feeds (free from antibiotics, steroids & chemicals) and range freely on our all natural pastures - no herbicides, sprays or poisons ever!  Every animal is treated with respect & attentive care to their physical, social & emotional needs, and live a life many people would envy.  Pure water, fresh air & sunshine, and the company of your own kind are important ingredients in a happy life.

Our fields are graced by our fold of registered Scottish Highland cattle, a rare beef breed noted for its beauty, gentle disposition and lean but absolutely delicious "Honored Life" beef Purebred registered Scottish Highland breeding stock is also available.

We also raise "Honored Life" naturally fed chickens and turkeys. Once you've tasted the naturally delicious flavor of these birds, you'll never go back to store bought!
